The Healing Art of Reiki: Healing with the Universal Energy

“Those who serve the sick, serve the Buddha” – The Buddha
Health is our most precious treasure. In this well known dictum lies the irrefutable truth that good health is one of the greatest blessings that one can possess. It is necessary in every stage of life and as all human beings desire to live comfortably, our vital needs can be satisfied only if we have good health.
Whilst modern medicine has managed to cure many illnesses, we are now starting to see the emergence of many types of alternative therapies which can help to treat a patient in a holistic way. We have also seen some cases where medicine has failed to find a cure but the illness was cured using techniques such as Reiki. Even though it is a very ancient method, Reiki has become very popular in many countries and is now being used across the globe.
However, no one has been able to trace the real origins of this popular healing method. According to many ancient religious texts, for thousands of years, many holy people like the Buddha and others like Ram, Krishna and Jesus Christ have used some sort of spiritual healing or purification method. For example, what is today known as Reiki was used by Gautama Buddha to heal many people. With his profound compassion the universal gift of healing was passed down to one of his closest disciples Ratna Garva in order to benefit all living beings.
Unfortunately, its benefits and wisdom was lost for a long time until it was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan at the beginning of the twentieth century. Reiki then spread from Japan to the USA through Hawayo Takata during the 1900s from where it has now spread across the world. The efficacy of this treatment has stood the test of time and is widely practiced today by millions.
Reiki is mentioned in the ancient Buddhist annals. In the Sat Dharma Pundarik Sutra (Lotus Sutra), it is said that the energy of Bhaisajya Raj Guru (Medicine Buddha) is universal and can be used for healing purposes. The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese characters or words which when combined mean 'universal energy' or 'spiritually guided universal energy'. It functions on the basic principle that all living things possess energy, which flows through a field of energy known as the 'aura'. This vital energy is everywhere in the atmosphere and can be seen in the colors of the rainbow. Human beings have this energy by nature, but have largely lost awareness of it.
According to Reiki, the mind is the main source of disease. As the vital energy responds to thoughts and feelings, negative thoughts and feelings such as anger or jealousy create imbalance in our energy system and lead to dysfunctions in the body and slowly different kinds of diseases appear. Reiki therefore uses five basic principles in its healing method, they are:
Just for today, I will let go of anger
Just for today, I will let go of worry
Just for today, I will do my work honestly
Just for today, I will count my blessings
Just for today, I will love & respect all living being
In a basic Reiki treatment a healer lays hands on a person's body in different positions, allowing the energy to flow to the affected parts. Reiki is not 'sent' as such; the recipients' body simply draws what it requires through the Reiki channel (the Reiki sender). By drawing an extra amount of Reiki energy, the patient feels more at peace and relaxed. Reiki also works to cure the root cause of disease by clearing and healing the energy pathways and so allowing the vital energy to flow naturally and normally. Giving Reiki treatments also benefits the healers because they use their channels to allow the Reiki energy to flow to their patients.
Reiki practitioners can apply it through a wide range of meditative techniques, which complement other spiritual disciplines. However, no previous knowledge or association with any kind of belief system is required to learn Reiki as it is independent of faith, religion, age and social status. There is no need to change one's belief system in order to practice Reiki and everyone can become a Reiki healer.
Reiki not only helps to cure many types of illness but it also helps to produce positive mindset and change the quality of life. In physical terms, Reiki can help to speed up the body's natural healing ability and promote health and wellbeing without any need for medical instruments for problems such as relieving physical pain, strengthening the immune system. At a psychological level, it helps to calm the mind, relieve anxiety and stress and to free emotional blockages and fears rooted in the past. It also promotes intuitive growth and creates a loving and harmonious environment at home and in the society.
The healing practice is also effective with animals, plants, food and children. It can be used to heal places and situations. It can be practiced safely by anyone, between family members and friends and is useful to anyone whose heart and mind are open to receiving it.
The question that immediately arises is how can one become a Reiki practitioner. As Reiki is a tantric discipline, it is not learned as you would learn something in school. By far the most important aspect of learning Reiki is the process of 'attunement' or 'initiation', which is an absolute necessity for anyone wishing to learn Reiki. The Reiki master must belong to an authentic lineage and must have understanding of all aspects of Reiki.
Reiki is taught at 4 levels and each level is taught over two days. On the first day, students are usually introduced to the theory and knowledge of meditation and healing techniques. The initiation ritual with the Reiki master is carried out in the second day, followed by practice sessions so that the recipients can 'feel' something and are confident enough to practice on their own.
The first level of Reiki teaches the art of touch healing. At this basic level, the recipients are able to heal themselves and to heal others using their hands. The initiation helps to open up the recipients' chakras so that they are able to become a channel for the universal energy to flow. The second level is taught to advanced healers. Recipients learn about distance healing and learn other techniques that boost their healing power, subsequently followed by the third level to become a Master healer and a Master teacher.
Becoming a Reiki teacher requires discipline and dedication to practice seriously and motivation to benefit other beings. Individuals who have practiced for many years both as a teacher and healer and have significant spiritual understanding of Reiki can progress to become a Reiki Grand Master. One of the greatest values of Reiki is that once learned we become self-healers. It provides us with the opportunity to become healers who can benefit oneself and help others to stay in good health.
Grand Master Lama Ngawang Rigdzin is a Reiki Master and the founder of Nepal Reiki Meditation Centre. The center has benefited more than 6000 people and has helped over 1000 people to find their own 'right path'. Lama Rigdzin is now working to construct the world's first Reiki hospital, which he hopes will help many, both in healing and in further spreading the practice of Reiki.

“Aquellos que sirven a los enfermos, sirven al Buda” – El Buda
La salud est nuestro tesoro más preciado. In this aforismo we understand the irrefutable truth that good health is one of the greatest blessings that one can pose. Necessary in all the stages of life and like all the human beings who want to live comfortably, our vital necessities can be considered satisfied if we still have good health.
Although modern medicine has cured many cases of confinement, we must now see the appearance of many types of alternative therapies that can be treated by a patient in a holistic form. Even though we see some cases where the medicine does not come across a cure, it is still cured using techniques such as Reiki. Although it is a very ancient method, Reiki is very popular in many countries and has been used all over the world.
Sin embargo, nadie ha sido capaz de rastrear los ígenes reales de este popular método de curación. From many texts of ancient religions, for miles of years, many people as Santas like Buda and other people like Rama, Krishna and Cristo Jesus have used some type of spiritual health or method of purification. For example, what is known as Reiki being used by Gautama Buda to heal many people. With its deep universal compassion, the gift of healing was transmitted to one of our most devoted disciples, Ratna Garva, with the end of benefiting from all our lives.
Unfortunately, our benefits and sabidity were lost during much of the time that was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan according to the principles of siglo XX. Reiki extends from Japan to the USA. Through Hawayo Takata during the decade of 1900, his stories extended to all the world. The effectiveness of this treatment has withstood the test of time and is amply practiced by millions.
Reiki is mentioned in ancient Buddhist records. In the Sat Dharma Pundarik Sutra (Loto Sutra), it is said that the energy of Bhaisajya Raj Guru (Buda de la Medicina) is universal and can be used for fine healing. Reiki speech is a combination of Japanese characters and words that combine meaningfully with “universal energy” or “spiritually directed universal energy”. It is based on the basic principle that all our lives have energy, which flows through an energy field known as the 'aura'. This vital energy is in all parts of the environment and can be seen in the colors of the iris. Our human beings have this natural energy, but they lose their consciousness.
From acuerdo with Reiki, the mind is the main source of enfermedad. We hope that the vital energy responds to the thoughts and feelings, the negative thoughts and feelings as it goes where they create desequilibrio in our energy system and there are dysfunctions in the body and slowly different types of locks appear. Reiki for many uses five basic principles in its healing method, they are:
Only then, I already went there.
Alone, you already have the concern.
Alone, you have to do my work with honesty.
Sólo por hoy, Voy a contar my bendiciones.
Only then, you have to love and respect everything you live.
In a basic Reiki treatment a sanador impones the hands on the body of a person in different positions, allowing the energy to flow to the affected parts. Reiki is not “enviated” as it is; The core of the receptors is simply where it is required through the Reiki channel (the Reiki remittance). With an extra supply of Reiki energy, the patient is more relaxed and relaxed. Reiki also works on the cause of the enclosure through the cleansing and sanity of the energy channels and allows vital energy to flow naturally and normally. Reiki treatments also benefit the health professionals because they use their channels to allow Reiki energy to flow to their patients.
Reiki practitioners can apply it through a wide range of meditation techniques, which complement other spiritual disciplines. Without exception, we do not require prior knowledge or association with any type of educational system to learn Reiki, because it is independent of religion, religion, education and social conditions. No need to change our new training system to practice Reiki and everyone can convert it into a Reiki trainer.
Reiki does not only help to cure many types of enfermedades, but also helps to produce a positive mentality and change the quality of life. In physical terms, Reiki can help accelerate the natural healing capacity of the body and promote health and well-being, without the need for medical instruments for problems such as the life of the physical pain, to strengthen the immune system. At a psychological level, ayuda a calmar la mente, alivia la ansiedad y el estrés y libera emocional blocks y temores arraigados desde el pasado. It also promotes the intuitive growth and creates an atmosphere of love and harmony in the home and in society.
The healing practice is also effective with animals, plants, food and children. You can use it to prevent light and situations. It can be practiced with safety by any person, between familiars and friends and it is useful for any person they love and are happy to receive.
Is it possible for you to learn immediately if you are a Reiki practitioner? Although Reiki is a tantric discipline, we do not learn the same way in which we learn it in the school. Therefore, the most important aspect of learning Reiki is the process of “armonization” or “initiation”, which is an absolute necessity for anyone who wants to learn Reiki. The Reiki master must have an authentic lineage and must be aware of all aspects of Reiki.
Reiki is taught in 4 levels and each level is taught over days. On the first day, students will be introduced to the theory and knowledge of the techniques of meditation and health. The initiation ritual with the Reiki master took place on the second day, followed by the practice sessions so that the recipients could “feel” algo and have sufficient confidence to practice for this reason.
The first level of Reiki taught the art of healing through the hat. At this basic level, the receptors have the ability to heal and heal others with their hands. The beginning aims to shelter the chakras of the recipients so that they can be converted into a channel so that universal energy flows. The second level is taught to advanced sanadores. The receivers learn remote healing and learn other techniques that increase their healing power, following the third level to convert into a master teacher and a master instructor.
Becoming a Reiki master requires discipline and dedication to the practice with consistency as well as motivation to benefit from our benefits. People who have practiced for many years, both as an instructor and a teacher, and who have a significant spiritual understanding of Reiki can progress until they become a Grand Maestro of Reiki. One of the great values of Reiki is that we learn our self-healing movements. We offer the opportunity to convert our health workers who can benefit from our mismos and we can help others to maintain a good state of health.
Grand Maestro Lama Ngawang Rigdzin is a Reiki maestro and founder of the Nepal Reiki Meditation Center. This center has benefited more than 6000 people and has allowed more than 1000 people to meet its propio “correct route”. Lama Rigdzin worked to build the first hospital in the world of Reiki, and he hoped that he could help many people, both in the cure and in a major propagation of the practice of Reiki.
